All the fan anger (mine included) over the Mass Effect 3 ending has had me thinking about what the game critics role in all this has played.

Like many, many other ME fans out there I was hugely excited with the 9.5-10 gamer scores that were coming back with increasing regularity and these left me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the games UK release. 28 hours later and I am staring at my TV screen with a dumbfounded look and feeling betrayed.

Now I use the betrayed to describe both my feelings towards Bioware and the game critics alike. I couldn't understand how these people (presumably) had played the same game as I and scored it so highly? I felt cheated, angry and ticked off.

Does anybody else feel that game critics have drifted out of touch with the common gamer?
